100 sketches - 1 project

In 2022, I started the year with the resolution to make a sketch every day and thus create 100 animal drawings, filling several sketchbooks in this way from January to June and continuously showing and describing the process on my Instagram account.

I immersed myself deeper and deeper in the magic and diversity of nature, read a lot about the extinction of species and explored the extent to which I could combine traditional work with modern digital technology even more, but without AI.

As a result, I created numerous works, both traditional and digital, for the project, which was funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the "Auf geht's" artist grant.

I summarised my experiences in the print documentation "Fauna - 100 Sketches, 1 Project".

As part of a solo exhibition "Wunderwesen, Arbeiten von Imke Sönnichsen", giclée prints of selected works from the project were exhibited in May 2023 at Galerie Triebwerk8 in Aachen and thus also made accessible to the Aachen public.
